Privacy & Cookies

This Privacy Policy explains how DeepCalcs (www.deepcalcs.com) handles information when you use our website and calculators. In short: calculations run in your browser and the numbers you type are not sent to us, we use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used, and we use or may use Google AdSense to show advertising, which can involve cookies set by Google and its partners.

1. The values you enter into our calculators

Every calculator on DeepCalcs runs in JavaScript in your browser. Boolean expressions, minterms, truth-table values and other inputs are processed on your device to produce a result. They are not sent to, stored on or logged by our servers.

Some calculators offer a “copy link to this result” button. That link contains your inputs in the web address so that the same calculation opens again. If you share or open such a link, the address, including those inputs, is sent to our web server like any other page request and may appear in standard server logs. Don’t put personal information into a calculator if you plan to share its link.

2. Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our hosting provider records basic technical information when a page is requested, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested, the referring page and the time of the request. These logs are used to keep the site secure and running and are kept for a limited period.

With your consent where the law requires it, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used: which pages are visited, how visitors arrive, approximate location (city or region), device and browser type, and how people interact with pages. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies. We use these reports to decide what to improve and which calculators to build.

3. Advertising and Google AdSense

DeepCalcs is free to use. To cover its costs we use, or may use, Google AdSense to display advertisements. When ads are shown:

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
  • Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
  • You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google’s Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info or, in Europe, www.youronlinechoices.eu.
  • If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you will be asked for consent before personalised advertising cookies are used, and you can change your choice at any time.

Ads may also be non-personalised, which means they are based on the page you are viewing and your general location rather than your browsing history. Even non-personalised ads can use cookies for frequency capping, fraud prevention and reporting. For more information, see how Google uses information from sites that use its services and how Google uses cookies in advertising.

We do not control the content of individual ads, and an ad appearing on DeepCalcs is not an endorsement.

4. Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. We use essential cookies to remember your cookie choice and protect the contact form. With your consent where required, we also use analytics and advertising cookies. Analytics and advertising cookies are not required to use any calculator.

Cookies used directly by DeepCalcs
CookiePurposeTypical lifetime
.AspNet.ConsentRecords acceptance of non-essential cookies.1 year
dc_consentRecords that non-essential cookies were declined.1 year
.AspNetCore.Antiforgery.*Protects contact-form submissions.Session
.AspNetCore.SessionSupports the contact form’s spam check.Session

Google Analytics may set _ga and _ga_<container-id>, normally for up to two years, to distinguish browsers and maintain analytics sessions. If AdSense is enabled, Google and its partners may set advertising cookies such as IDE, __gads and __gpi. Names and lifetimes are controlled by Google and can change.

Controlling cookies

  • Accept or decline non-essential cookies in the consent message.
  • Delete DeepCalcs cookies in your browser and reload the site to make a new choice.
  • Use browser privacy settings to review, block or remove stored cookies.
  • Use Google Ads Settings to manage personalised advertising.
  • Where supported, install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.

Blocking non-essential cookies does not prevent calculations from working. Blocking all cookies may affect the contact form and your saved consent choice.

5. Information you send us

If you use our contact form, we receive the name, email address, subject and message you provide. We use this only to reply to you and to fix or improve the site. Messages are delivered through our email provider. We do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not sell or share your message with advertisers.

6. What we don’t do

  • We don’t require an account or sign-up to use any calculator.
  • We don’t store the values you type into a calculator on our servers.
  • We don’t sell your personal information.
  • We don’t knowingly collect information from children.

7. Legal bases and your rights

Where data protection laws such as the UK GDPR or EU GDPR apply, we rely on your consent for analytics and advertising cookies, and on our legitimate interest in running a secure, working website for server logs and essential cookies. When you contact us, we process your details to respond to your request.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you, to object to or restrict its use, and to withdraw consent at any time. You may also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority. To exercise these rights, contact us using the form linked below.

8. International transfers

Google and our hosting and email providers may process information in countries other than your own, including the United States. These providers use contractual and technical safeguards for such transfers. See Google’s Privacy Policy for details of how Google handles data.

9. Children’s privacy

DeepCalcs is a general-audience educational site and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

10. Your choices

  • Accept or decline non-essential cookies in our cookie banner, and change your choice by clearing this site’s cookies.
  • Opt out of personalised ads through Google Ads Settings.
  • Install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
  • Block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The calculators will still work.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when we change how the site works, for example if we add or remove a service. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
